Geared towards the patient and the family.
Our focus is on aging well and improving quality of life.
An evaluation is provided with probable diagnoses and open discussion, as well as a treatment plan that realistically helps patients and families towards the right direction.

There is something special about getting older.
The wisdom brought on by experience, building up fortitude and the confidence to speak up. If we look at it this way, getting older is not just special but exciting.
We offer guidance
However, there are changes that occur as well. Physical and cognitive changes that include some decline.
The decline that occurs in aging can be quite overwhelming, not just for the elderly but for their loved ones as well.
As a geriatric psychiatrist, our focus is aging well and improving quality of life.
Knowledge is power
A good quality of life is not easy but attainable. Knowledge about different psychiatric disorders with the elderly including depression, anxiety, dementia etc. can encourage and reassure the elderly and empower their families to bring about quality of life.
Why this is important to me
As the resources have diminished, it has been hard to get mental health assistance and the support that is needed for our older population.
Although I may not be able to follow everyone as a patient, having both clinical/medical and personal experience with dementia and other mental health diagnoses concerning the elderly, I decided to offer this service.
A consultation service geared towards the patient and the family. An evaluation is provided with probable diagnoses and open discussion, as well as a treatment plan that realistically helps patients and families towards the right direction.
The more knowledge that the patient or their families have about certain diagnoses improves ones perspective. It also gives reassurance to the people involved because there is help and understanding of what it is they are facing.
